How many wall panels do I need?
Our free wall panelling calculator takes the guesswork out of your project. To work out how many wall panels you need, measure the width and height of your wall, divide the width by the panel width (our acoustic slat and PVC panels are 60 cm wide) and round up — that gives the number of panels across. Because our panels are 2.4 m tall, matching a standard UK ceiling height, most walls need just a single row. The wall panel calculator above does all of this instantly and also estimates the trims, adhesive and total cost for your project.
How to measure your wall
- 1 — Width. Measure the full width of the wall in centimetres (or feet). For an alcove, measure at the widest point.
- 2 — Height. Measure floor to ceiling. A standard UK wall is around 2.4 m.
- 3 — Openings. Note any doors or windows and subtract their area (in m²) so you don’t over-order.
- 4 — Add a spare. We recommend keeping one spare panel for cuts and future repairs.
Frequently asked questions
How many panels do I need for a 3-metre wall?
A 3 m wide, 2.4 m high wall needs 5 panels (3 m ÷ 0.6 m = 5 panels across, one row). Enter your exact measurements above for a precise figure.
Do I need trims and adhesive too?
Yes — end trims give a clean finish on the outer edges, and adhesive (roughly one tube per three panels) secures them alongside screws. The calculator estimates both for you.
Can I cut the panels to size?
Absolutely. Panels can be trimmed to height with a fine-tooth saw. For walls taller than 2.4 m the calculator adds an extra row automatically.
