Fitting acoustic wall panels in your home is simpler than you might think. This step-by-step UK installation guide walks you through everything you need - from surface preparation to the final panel. Whether you're fitting acoustic wall panels in a living room, bedroom, or home office, follow these steps for a professional finish.

Prepare your wall
Ensure the wall surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or loose paint. Wipe down with a dry cloth. Our panels adhere to plasterboard, brick, MDF, and most standard wall surfaces.
Tip: If your wall has recently been painted, allow at least 7 days for the paint to fully cure before adhering panels.
Plan your layout
Measure your wall width and mark a vertical centre line. Starting from centre gives the most balanced look. Each panel is 60cm wide, so plan how many panels you need and whether you will need to cut the edge panels.
Mark your starting point
Use a spirit level to draw a perfectly level horizontal line at the base of where your panels will sit. This is the most important step — an off-level start will become more noticeable as you add panels.
Tip: Even on new builds, floors are rarely perfectly level. Always use a spirit level, never the floor.
Apply adhesive to the panel
Apply panel adhesive in a zigzag pattern across the back of the panel, keeping about 3cm from each edge. A single tube covers approximately 2–3 panels. Do not apply adhesive to the wall itself.
Press and hold
Press the panel firmly against the wall, aligning with your level line. Apply even pressure across the panel for 30–60 seconds. Use temporary support (a strip of masking tape at the top, or a prop) while the adhesive sets. Initial set time is approximately 15–20 minutes; full cure is 24 hours.
Fit the next panels
Butt each panel tightly against the previous one. The panels are designed to sit flush with no visible gap. Repeat steps 4–5 across your wall.
Tip: Alternate the direction of slats slightly between panels if you want a more natural wood-grain effect — no two panels need to look identical.
Cutting panels to fit
If your wall width requires a cut panel, mark your cut line with a pencil and cut with a fine-tooth saw or jigsaw. Always cut from the finished face side upwards with a handsaw, or face down with a power saw, to avoid splintering the veneer. Sand lightly after cutting.
Leave to cure
Allow 24 hours before applying any weight or stress to the panels. Most installations look complete and professional immediately after fitting.
Ceiling installation follows the same adhesive method but requires additional temporary support while the adhesive cures. Use a wooden prop or second pair of hands to hold the panel in place for at least 60 seconds. We recommend mechanical fixings (small screws into ceiling joists) as supplementary support for ceiling installs. Always locate joists before drilling.
